Territory sales manager - East Midlands 

We are currently recruiting for a (Territory Sales Manager), East Midlands for our clients Surgical division. 

Our client is a global company that develops, manufactures and markets a range of pharmaceutical, medical device and over-the-counter products, primarily in the therapeutic areas of eye health, gastroenterology and dermatology. They are one of the best-known and most respected healthcare brands in the world, offering the widest and finest range of eye health products including contact lenses and lens care products, pharmaceuticals, intraocular lenses and other eye surgery products. The company is solely dedicated to protecting and enhancing the gift of sight for millions of people around the world.

As the Equipment specialist (Territory Sales Manager), East Midlands for Surgical you will be responsible for growing, retaining and maintaining business on the territory. 

You will be:

  • Goal-driven, tenacious sales professional with experience in a longer buying cycle
  • Significant ability to flex style to be able to connect with different points in a theatre or hospital environment
  • Ability to ask for business when appropriate
  • Ability to understand the marketplace and market drivers driving clinicians and other stakeholders
  • Ability to work as part of a team or individually to grow business
  • Good Account Manager – need to maintain existing business, as well as growing and winning new business
  • Ability to produce creative and appropriate sales solutions to drive business in the territory
  • Ability to gain tender commitments to purchase products
  • Driving sales of Phaco & VR machines, and related disposables in allocated accounts
  • Launching and driving sales of new products into allocated accounts
  • Detailing products to ophthalmologists as well as other relevant clinical staff
  • Develop strong and productive relationships with stakeholders at all levels within NHS and Private customer groups
  • Working closely with IOL specialists and business development teams to identify and close sales into NHS and other structures to gain new business
  • Working closely with Key Account team to deliver drive lines into National Accounts as appropriate

Qualifications/ Experience Critical: 

  • Significant demonstrable ability to grow business in a sales environment
  • Demonstrable ability to sell complex products in a clinical environment
  • Ability to effectively network within a clinical or hospital environment
  • Ability to learn about competitor businesses and products and be able to sell professionally against them
  • Full understanding of Technical aspects of Surgical equipment and related consumables
  • Full understanding of product positioning and target customer base

Qualifications/ Experience Desirable:

  • Ability to gain knowledge of NHS and Private Sector structures within Ophthalmology
  • Demonstrable complex clinical knowledge of products and be able to pass this on at various different levels of theatre or medical staff.
  • Proven knowledge of complex selling cycles such as tender or contractual agreements.
  • Recognized sales training either from FMCG or other marketplaces
  • Medical devices background Desirable
  • Ophthalmology Theatre experience Preferrable
