Job Description:

Market Access Manager - UK wide 

We are currently recruiting for a Market Access Manager for our client who are a global company that develops, manufactures and markets a range of pharmaceutical, medical device and over-the-counter products, primarily in the therapeutic areas of eye health, gastroenterology and dermatology.

They are one of the best-known and most respected healthcare brands in the world, offering the widest and finest range of eye health products including contact lenses and lens care products, pharmaceuticals, intraocular lenses and other eye surgery products. The company is solely dedicated to protecting and enhancing the gift of sight for millions of people around the world.

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE OF JOB

Our client want to improve people’s lives with their Health Care Products and getting these products into their customers and patients hands is at the core of that ambition.

Therefore, the Market Access Manager will be on the frontline driving this ambition by connecting with key customers and functions across the CCG’s and Health care services to get our new products and innovation onto the formularies and into our customer hands. Working closely with their sales team and have a real passion for our business in following up on leads regularly and in a well organised manner

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Driving market access planning and capabilities in support of their NPD across the NHS for both primary and secondary care.
  • Assess and develop our go to market model for optimal access capabilities thus removing reliance on third parties and agencies.
  • Creating, contributing & guiding the overall strategy of the Market Access, Pricing and Reimbursement practice area.
  • Help embed the clear focus on company purpose to ensure we lives the values and drive the patient focus in support of our people focus and recruitment planning.
  • Work closely with the Business Unit Head and NSM to develop a comprehensive sales plan to build pipeline, close deals and to expand existing customer accounts and deployments.
  • Develop, close and partnership driven relationships and ensure win-win opportunities.

KEY ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive Business Development

  • Direct the activities related to market access for the UKLead, develop and support the UK / I team to successfully implement national market access plans to support value-based pricing and reimbursement
  • Actively contributing to business development and preparation of complex and business critical proposals and pitches
  • Significant contributor to the build out of the market access practice by leading key internal initiatives

Leadership

  • Using personal networks and professional reputation as a leader to attract, inspire and develop high performing individuals and teams.
  • Recruits, develops, trains, and retains key talent.
  • Providing problem solving leadership and expert perspective, guiding multiple teams and projects.
  • Support internal & external communication or training material regarding market access issues
  • Planning and Priorities
  • Accountable for understanding the market dynamics and drivers impacting the access in the UK and work with the cross functional team to adapt the UK approach as needed to ensure competitiveness and success
  • Developing clinical summaries, product dossiers and value messages to support reimbursement submissions.
  • Ability to identify key stakeholders quickly and build a strengthening relationship to give our portfolio best chance of success

Customer Management

  • Building credibility and respect with key decision makers and influencers within our industry – partnering with KOL’s and business units where appropriate to deliver customer excellence.

Compliance

  • Understand the regulatory regime within which the organisation operates and ensure our market access activities comply

CANDIDATE PROFILE: 

• In-depth understanding of and experience in the NHS commissioning landscape.

COMPETENCIES

  • Strong experience in Market Access and launching pharmaceutical products.
  • Understanding of integrated systems as a whole and the importance of finding system-wide solutions.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial thinking by generating and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Proven collaboration skills to successfully work in a cross-functional team.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and conflict management skills
  • Ability to develop and leverage strong working relationships across the company
  • Change management skills related to market access planning.
  • Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment
  • Staying one step ahead by spending time to keep up with developments in NHS landscape taking back key learnings to the team and company.
  • Confident to set and deliver against a sales plan that is achievable and aligned to operational strategy
  • IT savvy with business process orientation
  • Analytical and able to review reports and data to identify on patterns/trends.
