ROLE SUMMARY

Our client is one of the leading providers of NHS ophthalmology services in England, providing outpatients appointments, diagnostic testing and eye surgery.

They have an exciting new opportunity that has arisen in their Growth team, for a Head of Proposition to join the team and help us continue to deliver a great service and contribute to the outstanding clinical care they provide our patients. 

We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing excellent services to a diverse group of colleagues working across our network of eye hospitals, delivering first class patient care and improving the lives of our patients.

What will the role involve? 

Our client has an ambitious growth strategy and a critical element of this growth strategy is to ensure they grow profitably, constantly improving their patient offer and determining where and how they extend our offer. This is an exciting  new role in their Strategic Growth team to develop new patient propositions and clinical pathway strategy.  The role will be to understand the market, the NHS, our competitors, their patients needs and gaps in their offer and areas to innovate and differentiate.  

The role has responsibility for leading the development of new patient propositions and new clinical innovation initiatives, developing the business case, proof of concept and operating model for new propositions and pathways, managing the end-to-end proposition development to a time & budget.

This is a challenging role that will suit a driven, commercially astute individual with an appetite to continuously look for innovative ways to improve our patient and clinical proposition and make them a reality. Confident with data  to ensure develop strategic opportunities for profitable growth that are operationally viable and deliver competitive advantage. The role will also require strong operational skills and an ability to work cross functionally, influencing and gaining support from key stakeholders and coaching and supporting workstreams through to completion.

What skills and experience do I need for the role?

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

  • Working in a healthcare environment, preferably in optics or ophthalmology services (may have a clinical background but not essential)
  • Experience of strategic business, proposition, and pathway development
  • Developing and implementing plans to deliver targets and business growth
  • Working in the field with extensive travel
  • Working as a remote worker
