Doug and Mary Perkins launched their new business in 1984, they were driven by a passion for providing the best possible optical care at affordable prices and providing excellent customer service. And they were committed to delivering these through a ground-breaking partnership model that enabled opticians to own and run their own businesses, sustained by a high quality support structure.

Today Specsavers is still a family-run business and the original vision of successful partnerships providing eyecare at affordable prices and a quality customer experience is still at the heart of our organisation. In 2002, we launched a hearing care business, Hearcare, based on the same successful principles.

Now, with over 700 stores and growing in the UK and the Republic of Ireland, we have over 15,000 store staff and 1,000 support staff. In fact, we think you’ll be surprised by the range of careers we have to offer.
