Flame Pharma Pharmaceutical - Senior Safety Associate/Drug Safety & Public Health Job - Cambridgeshire:

Are you a Senior Safety Associate? Are you looking to demonstrate your skills and expertise within Drug Safety? We are currently recruiting a Senior Safety Associate for a biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops and commercialises innovative therapeutics. If you are looking for a challenge and to accelerate your Senior Safety Associate career by working on multiple Drug Safety projects, then this position is for you.

Job Title

Senior Safety Associate – Drug Safety & Public Health

Background

Due to expansion our client is looking to recruit a Senior Safety Associate within Drug Safety & Public Health to provide specialist advice for colleagues on safety data handling and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be able to assess and process complex adverse event reports
  • To be able to understand underlying pathophysiology of a disease state
  • To be able to understand and recognise different aetiologies of events
  • To review and prioritise information received on adverse events for both marketed and pre-marketed products
  • To perform initial assessment of case using scientific and drug safety knowledge
  • To be familiar with the drug safety databases and be able to enter data as required, obtain follow up information by direct interaction with the reporter or CRO as necessary
  • Mentors junior staff and reviews their work for quality and accuracy
  • Supports the Manager through providing management of workload and oversight of SSAs as required
  • Works independently, establishing work priorities and direction with minimal input from manager
  • Participates in the strategic planning for the group and associated work practices and procedures

Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc degree in life sciences, pharmacy or nursing
  • Proven track record in pharmaceutical industry, experience in Drug Safety, preferably in case management
  • Demonstrates attention to detail (quality and accuracy), teamwork and initiative
  • Maintains confidentiality (especially on patient records)
