Flame Health Associates are seeking a Professional Services Manager (to cover 12 months Maternity Leave), on behalf of a market leader within the competitive Contact Lens Market. Our client has built their reputation on being dedicated and inventive within this growing sector.

The relationships that have been generated with Eye Care Practioners across Ireland and the UK are very strong and have helped the business become best in class.


Monday to Friday 8.30 am - 4.30 pm, flexibility to work additional hours as and when required


To manage and develop the professional services team, develop and implement the UK Professional Services annual Plan.

Positively influence the prescribing of contact lenses by eye care practitioners and promote engagement with retail staff. Elevate the professional image and profile of the company throughout the optical industry through education and other professional activity.


Work closely with country sales and marketing functions, as well as EU professional services, to clearly define the annual strategy & plans for Professional Services. This includes; KPI’s, focus areas, major events, clinical papers, training plans, presentations, key influencer relations Develop differentiated training initiatives and programs to influence fitting habits and contact lens category engagement Manage, develop and motivate a team of professional services consultants Support marketing managers to drive brand objectives.

Create and deliver against opportunities to enhance brand reputation through training initiatives, clinical articles, testimonials, events, ECP communication tools etc. Support sales managers to develop technical, clinical and category competences for the sales force.

Deliver regular trainings and one-to-one coaching sessions to promote skills development Lead professional support for key/national customers through active engagement in customer business teams Develop strategies and relationships to influence key commercial, clinical and educational opinion leaders

Present with personal impact at optical conferences and training events to significant sized audiences on clinical or optical business related topics Write / translate & publish trade press articles, on the clinical and commercial aspects of contact lenses to help maximize the contact lens market opportunity

Share best practices with other countries and the EU region

Develop and manage clinical and post market surveys, input into ECP & consumer market research aimed at growing the category

Design and deliver major company events in conjunction with the marketing team. Design and develop clinical presentations and programs for our customers to improve the clinical knowledge of company products

Develop business programs and presentations which serve to drive CL penetration or company market share in the UK or across Europe.

Write & publish articles and peer review papers, on the clinical and commercial aspects of contact lenses, and the requirements within a practice to maximize the contact lens market opportunity.

Collect and act upon information about our and competitor lenses for internal use.

Liaise with and update regulatory and professional organizations as required.

Delivery of commercially viable clinical strategies and tactics in line with regional/global strategy

This role will be office based, although will require regular travel to customer meetings and occasional European meetings.


Registered Optometrist PhD/ MBA preferred EXPERIENCE Previous experience in a CL manufacturer or optical retailer

Clinical experience within both independent and national retail chains

Competent designer and deliverer of training programs for multi-level audiences

Demonstrable ability to network and capitalise on opportunities Presentations to large conference audiences

Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate a team of professional employees
