Job Description :

Flame Health Optometry - Senior Optometrist Job - Dorset:

An outstanding opportunity for a senior optometrist is now available at this excellent practice in Dorset. They require a self-motivated optometrist to join one of the leading optical groups, which has a proven track record in developing and providing excellent career paths for individuals through their recognised training and development channels.

You will be working within a fantastic coastal location of Dorset, which has a reputation and frame and lens range you would usually associate with a flagship practice in central London. The practice boasts the highest private patient base in the region, has a core patient base of 18-35 year olds and has one of the lowest turnover of personnel within the company umbrella. Indeed, a number of ’Long service’ awards have been given out to those long serving members of the team recently!

There are over 20 team members so there will always be someone who will assist you in your optometric duties; they will complete the field screening of each patient for you. Within your consulting room (of which there are 4) you will discover a good level of equipment and an air-conditioned environment ensuring that you are as comfortable as possible. The practice provides the stability of a multiple and the ethos of an independent practice.

As a senior optometrist you will be responsible for thorough eye examinations, contact lens assessments and aftercares and assisting colleagues when necessary to ensure the practice operates smoothly. You will ideally have a testing time of twenty minutes, however those with a longer testing time will be welcomed. The ideal candidate for this position must be a highly committed individual who wants to continue to develop both clinically and commercially, therefore newly a qualified optometrist would be suitable. It is of paramount importance that you are proactive and are able to interact with the team ensuring that the environment is always positive. With reference to your commercial abilities, you will understand the importance of providing product recommendations within the consulting room and at the handover stage, you will also monitor your conversion rate and productivity. It is vitally important that you have a flexible working attitude ensuring that the patient is always put first; this may mean accommodating late arrivals into the clinic or adjusting your lunch to meet operational requirements. Above all is your ability to provide excellent customer service, which will continue to build the excellent reputation of the practice.

In return you will receive a very competitive salary package, holiday entitlement of twenty five days, CET training, personal development courses and professional fees paid. The group also runs comprehensive medical, dental and permanent health insurance schemes. Life assurance and a portable pension plan are also available.
