When it comes to contact lenses all the leading brands are available and a wide range of lens types to suit everyone. The testing rooms are equipped with state of the art equipment and you can expect to be working in a modern and well supported environment.

Responsibilities:

To establish professional trust with each customer through the delivery of professional services that include: Eye Examinations, Contact Lens fitting and aftercare check appointments, Refractive Surgery pre + post operation involvement, Offer professional advice to patients/customers, Dispensing and Spectacle collection duties
To recommend the most suitable Eye-Care solution, to customers and to directly convey this information via a handover to the Optical Advisor.
To build a strong relationship with customers and put them at ease by using appropriate terminology and by explaining the process clearly.
To work closely with the laboratory associates to ensure that all spectacles are made to the correct specification for the customer and also to check the quality of the finished product prior to being collected.
To closely supervise all dispensing duties carried out by Optical Advisors, and to personally be responsible for dispensing to all groups of people as identified by current legislation.
To complete all necessary paperwork (e.g. customer record cards, NHS forms), timely, accurately and with the required amount of detail.
To take an active role in the training and coaching of Associates within the store and to work closely with the Store Manager in identifying specific training needs of Associates.
Adopt a flexible approach to seeing ’Walk-In’ patients
To be responsible for ensuring that at all times the testing rooms are immaculate, well presented and laid out to the Company standards.
The Optometrist is responsible for reporting faulty equipment to the store manager.
Attend and participate in team meetings and maintain up-to-date with professional advancements, legislation and new products.

Qualifications:

Registration with the GOC or FAOI if applying for Southern Ireland
The ability to demonstrate a strong commercial acumen
The Ability to demonstrate exceptional communication & interpersonal skills
The ability to work well with people
Registered with the local NHS trust
The ability to work in a dynamic & fast moving customer focused environment
