Flame Health Optometry - Branch Manager Job - Edinburgh:

We are currently recruiting for a Practice Manager to join this highly successful Optical practice based in Lothian. Established for 250 years, this company has a network of almost 400 stores nationwide, employing 600 qualified opticians, 250 dispensing opticians and over 350 optometrists. Dedicated to providing a quality service, the company ensures all of its staff are trained to the highest standard by ensuring all new staff complete an intensive 3 month training programme, followed by ongoing training to aid in continuous development.

Job Purpose

To maximise customer service, sales and profit through the delivery of outstanding eyecare and the development, leadership and coaching of their team to deliver first for service, and exceptional business results

Key Personal Responsibilities

  • Recruit, lead, motivate and manage colleagues to develop business performance
  • Proactively coach and develop colleagues to support succession planning
  • Control Branch Administration Standards
  • Achieve and sustain excellent branch presentation standards
  • Exceed Customer Expectations
  • Deliver Sales Plan

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • In depth knowledge of branch operating principles, including employment and health and safety legislation
  • Possess strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Ability to recruit, develop, lead and coach
  • Experience of driving excellent customer service and selling
  • Experience of setting targets and interpreting financial data e.g. P&L/KPI reports
  • Effective planning, organisation and delegation skills
  • Logical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to be flexible and able to work under pressure whilst ensuring deadlines and targets are met
  • Self motivated, focused and able to work alone, and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage performance issues to a successful conclusion
