Job profile - Portfolio Manager - UK & ROI

Flame Health Associates are looking for an NHS Portfolio Manager, to work throughout the UK, for a leading Eyecare provider.

The right person will be expected to work within a team, but support the company contracts - current contracts are at various stages of lifecycle and performance.
The role will entail problem solving and developing solutions to protect business and maximise potential.
Working with internal stakeholders/partners, marketing and regional support team to get more sales out of the contract and finally build on the ongoing relationship management and development of contract, i.e. generate more income and expand on current contracts. The role will use the contract to develop a service, but will not input on pricing or negotiating the contract, or working through the terms of the contract.
You will need experience of SDIP’s - service development improvement plans, KPI’s and metrics.
Travel - home based anywhere - spread of contracts across UK. Travelling 3-4 days per week. One day in the London or Nottingham office.

Role summary

To develop effective working relationships with the NHS and Partners at multiple levels in order to:

  • Drive NHS Customer Growth
  • Maintain NHS Contracts
  • Mitigate business risk such as financial, operational and compliance
  • Enhance the perception of the brand
  • Cross sell and up sell services to grow the business

To effectively deliver NHS contracts on a regional level from Award to Renewal ensuring the company exceeds contract standards, effectively localising our national strategy to maximise value for commissioning groups. Working closely with Regional Directors and Central Contracts team to contribute to the overall growth of the particular business.
Launch new business:

  • Support local operational teams with robust market intelligence to develop regional delivery plans and new store openings.
  • Project manage the Mobilisation of new contracts taking a contract from award through to implementation.
  • Represent the business in key negotiations with local Commissioning Groups.
  • Interpret contracts for local support teams and Partners

Relationship Management & Growth:

  • Develop effective relationships with the NHS to drive our business forward
  • Adapt local service provision to meet the needs of Commissioning Groups and Localities
  • Work with key stakeholders to increase referrals
  • Co-ordinate regional engagement plans to promote engagement and drive customer growth
  • Implementation of business initiatives to improve NHS performance and supporting ad-hoc projects as required
  • Develop Partner capability to deliver GP engagement
  • Deliver key intelligence to CCGs ensure they are well informed to make commissioning decisions

Contract Management:

  • Deliver an ongoing contact programme with key stakeholders in the NHS.
  • Deliver contract review meetings with CCGs and Support Units
  • Monitor contract performance, identify early warnings and implement remedial actions plans with cross functional teams
  • Partner the HRH and RDCs to promote improvement in NHS performance
  • Manage plans to mitigate exposure and risk to our existing contracts
  • Secure on-going improvements in contract variations to improve Partner Profit
  • Deliver contract compliance audits and co-ordinate the delivery of remedial action plans
  • Ensure delivery of contract reporting
  • Ensure that contract management requirements such as reporting, SDIPs are delivered
  • Educate and inform the Partners about their contracts and associated changes

Operational Effectiveness:

  • Develop the tools, frameworks and processes to drive improvement in NHS performance
  • Implement strategies at a national and regional level to grow NHS volumes and mitigate risk
  • Manage the resolution of underperformance in NHS contracts through effective Partnering of DRMs.
  • Scope new opportunities to drive growth in the NHS market
