Flame Health Dentistry - Lead Dental Nurse - New Forest area - Dorset
We are looking for a full-time lead dental nurse, who is experienced with clinical governance and with GDC registation. They will be required to work five days per week, in this large mixed practice. Salary will depend upon experience and qualifications. The candidate will need to have strong relationship building skills to lead the team of nurses and have a pro-active approach in acheving what is required. Good written and oral communication skills are essential, as is computer literacy.
As part of the practice team, to assist in the provision of dental care services to patients. To embrace the organisation, implementation and delivery of dental services by developing patient care procedures to ensure maximum contribution to the practice ethos, in line with CQC guidelines and practice policies.
To maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the practice, with all due attention to relevant legal and ethical codes. In addition they need to implement the practice policy in respect of cross infection control and Health & Safety. Particular attention should be paid to sterilisation of instruments.
Use all equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations
To take all-reasonable measures to ensure patient comfort.
To assist the dentist both at chair side and in planning appointments to avoid delaying both patients and dentists.
Accurately complete patient clinical records as directed
Liaise with reception to ensure smooth patient communications and transfer of records
To maintain patient confidentiality. This includes preventing medical histories, conversations, financial transactions and reactions to treatment been overheard.
Complete laboratory request forms, keep records of work sent, received and fitted
To make certain that an efficient link with the dental laboratory is upheld to prevent delays in the despatch and receipt of work.
Be familiar and comply with all health and safety rules and guidance, including PPE, COSHH, mercury handling, infection control, waste disposal, x-rays, resuscitation, emergency procedures and fire drill
Attend and lead in practice meetings for the nursing staff, as well as meeting with senior management.
Other duties as necessary for the efficient operation of the practice
Act in accordance with the practice rules and code of conduct
