Flame Health Dentistry - Dental Hygienist Job - Inverness:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a full time experienced and qualified hygienist to join a fully private dental practice based in Inverness, Scotland.

This company is constantly evolving and growing and is committed to providing high quality private dental care. It focuses on supporting and developing each member of staff in order to allow them to perform to their full potential and enjoy job satisfaction.

As a Hygienist within this company you will be working to the prescription of a dentist who will prescribe the treatment and, in consultation with you, the length of the appointments, the duration of the treatment plan and the frequency of maintenance recall visits.

This position is available full time on a self employed basis with the successful hygienist receiving 40% of the patient book, the days are negotiable and appointment times vary dependent on the type of treatment being given.

Within this position the successful Hygienist will be required to:

  • Ensure that the clinical areas and all equipment are clean, tidy and sterile as appropriate, in accordance to the practice’s health and safety procedures and manufacturers instructions.
  • Provide advice and treatments in accordance with the 1986 Dental Auxiliaries regulations and the GDC guidance Carry out treatment according to the dentist’s written prescription.
  • Treat patients according to the practice appointment scheduling system.
  • Use all equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and ensure that they are maintained regularly and in good working order.
  • Accurately complete patient clinical records as directed.
  • Ensure the welfare of all patients.
  • Be familiar and comply with all Health and Safety rules and guidance, including PPE, COSSH, Mercury handling, infection control and waste control Ensure that there are adequate stocks of materials and other items within the surgery.
  • Liaise with reception to ensure smooth patient communication and transfer of records.
  • Act at all times in accordance with the practice rules and code of conduct.
  • Undertake other duties as necessary for the efficient operation of the practice (such as the duties and tasks of dental nurse or receptionist in exceptional circumstances).
  • Undergo training that may be required to develop skills and abilities.
  • Attend refresher and update training for medical emergencies and CPR.
  • Act in accordance with the practice rules and code of conduct.
