Flame Health Dentistry - Hygienist Job - Brighton:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a part time experienced and qualified hygienist to join an excellent private dental practice based in Brighton.

This company is constantly evolving and growing and is committed to providing high quality private dental care. It focuses on supporting and developing each member of staff in order to allow them to perform to their full potential and enjoy job satisfaction. As a Hygienist within this company you will be working to the prescription of a dentist who will prescribe the treatment and, in consultation with you, the length of the appointments, the duration of the treatment plan and the frequency of maintenance recall visits.

This position is based on working on a Saturday only.

As Hygienist for this practice you will be required to providing the following:

Customised clinical care and prevention advice to the individual needs of patients under the direction of the referring Dentist.
Undertake clinical care in accordance with the needs of patients from all backgrounds.
Undertake comprehensive oral hygiene needs assessment of patients, reassessing following treatment and provide feedback to the referring consultant.
Provide specific oral hygiene advice by the development of home care plans for individual patients.
Give specific advice including: - advice and use of fluoride agents, the benefits of smoking cessation, potential change within the mouth relating to medical history and treatments (such as radiotherapy).
Demonstrate, teach and monitor comprehensive oral hygiene/plaque control measures to enable patients to take an active and crucial role in treatment. Perform scaling and polishing of teeth.
Perform supra-gingival scaling and polishing of teeth and exposed roots.
Apply desensitising drugs/agents to exposed root surfaces - the application of topical fluorides and fissure sealants.

This position is based on working on a self employed basis at 40% per hour.
