Flame Health Dentistry Jobs – Dental Hygienist Job – Somerset Area

Flame Health is currently looking for a part time qualified GDC registered dental hygienist in the Somerset area to work 1 day a week, Tuesday 08.30-1700.

The company has been established for 24 years and is dedicated to providing high quality dental health at affordable prices. As dental hygienist you will have a vital role in helping to prevent problems from arising and in the treatment of gum diseases. You will carry out procedures such as advanced periodontal health management, deep scaling and polishing teeth, and applying topical fluoride and fissure sealants as identified by the General Dental Council and the British Society of Periodontology. You will complete procedures such as desensitising drugs/agents to exposed root surfaces and the application of topical fluorides and fissure sealants. As dental hygienist you will educate patients in the care of teeth and gum, demonstrate cleaning techniques, provide advice about the effects of diet and give advice on the benefits of smoking cessation.

This dental hygienist role is increasingly important as the emphasis in dentistry changes to prevention of dental diseases (not just decay). You will take impressions and radiographs (if trained to do so) and carrying out some minor treatments under supervision and ensure that all computer records and other relevant documentation is completed and processes in line with current company policy and General Dental Council guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a health care environment, demonstrating a high level of organisation skills. You will be adaptable and flexible whilst carrying out working procedures and able to identify and respond to patient needs. Time management, organisation and interpersonal skills are essential. In order to apply for this position as a dental hygienist you will be qualified and registered with the GDC, have evidence of the necessary skills in radiography and CPR/medical emergencies and evidence of CPD verifiable hours.
